Packaging and Delivery
An LVPM for each component must be completed and submitted to Kasai Material Handling Department prior to the first KSPQP meeting held for new product development, and 4 weeks prior to Kasai S Lot build for minor projects (such as cost reduction etc). Please click <here> to download a sample LVPM document. Subsequently full LVPM approval must be achieved 20 weeks prior to Kasai trial build for both new product, and minor projects. This will enable any unique packaging to be prototyped. Packaging Allocation Packaging allocation will be determined by Material Handling and Purchasing, through calculations for each part number. Suppliers must also review their own internal requirements and determine if any additional packaging is required to support their own needs, e.g. batch builds, sub-contract work, extended production cycle. Packaging over and above logistics cycle requirements will be 100% funded by the supplier. Proof of purchase to be copied to Kasai Material Handling Department to enable packaging population records to be amended accordingly. Additional packaging will remain supplier owned. Packaging Exchange It is the Suppliers responsibility to ensure they have the systems in place to monitor packaging exchanges (stillages, polyboxes, inserts, trays and pallets). This is essential to support the following: · Avoid packaging shortages · Identify responsibility for losses · Monitor the location of packaging · Highlight any logistical inadequacies Suppliers must be able to track packaging and systems may be audited as part of a KSPQP visit. Product Packaging and Delivery Kasai have developed a number of documents to ensure efficient product packaging and delivery. The following trial build documentation is issued to the supplier with the formal order for trial parts: 1. Trial Build Parts Label. 2. First Production Shipment Label. Any products received without supporting paperwork or labels will be quarantined and classified as incorrectly delivered. The supplier should ensure that all trial products arrive at Kasai by the due date requested by the Kasai Production Control department. 1.
