5.4 Process Capabilities Study and Improvement
Activity Purpose:

Evaluate, monitor and manage process capabilities in order to maintain a capable and stable process condition that continuously achieves Kasai UK targets.

Notes:

If process capability requirements are not achieved, all product shall be subjected to additional confirmation activities to prevent delivery of non-conforming product until effective countermeasure(s) are implemented and verified.

In order to maintain a capable and stable process condition, the supplier shall identify "unusual" or "abnormal" process conditions. Examples of 'unusual' or "abnormal" process conditions include (but are not limited to) difficulties experienced during set-up and start-up or excessive noise or vibration from equipment during operation.
In the event of an unusual or abnormal process condition being identified, the supplier shall implement a reaction plan, including escalation where appropriate.

Activity Content -Identify characteristics whose process capabilities shall be evaluated, and make a capability study plan.

-The capability study plan must also include the evaluation of characteristics specified by Kasai UK.
-Carry out the process capability evaluation of off tool parts.

-Make the final Process Capability Study Plan based on the evaluation results.
-Implement the final Process Capability Study Plan

-Carry out the process capability evaluation using products manufactured off the production process.
-The supplier shall continuously monitor and reduce variation in both product and manufacturing process characteristics.
-If the process capability does not achieve Kasai requirements, the supplier shall establish root cause(s) and implement effective countermeasure(s) to meet the requirements by the time of SOP. -If the process capability does not achieve Kasai requirements, the supplier shall establish root cause(s) and implement effective countermeasure(s) to meet the requirements by the time of SOP.
