To manage the introduction of Design Changes in order to ensure that there is no negative impact on quality, cost or delivery.
Activity Scope:
The scope of Design Change Management covers all design changes made by the tier 1 supplier or their supply chain.
Notes:
Design changes include any change affecting the form, fit, function, performance and/ or durability of a part.
Examples of design changes include (but are not limited to):
-Changes to mechanism or structure
-Changes to electrical function
-Changes to material (including supporting material such as grease, paint, welding rod etc. )
-Changes to dimensions or mass
-Changes to sub-component layout
-Changes affecting homologation/safety/regulation
There are two types of design change:
Design change instigated by Kasai UK
Design change instigated by the supplier
-Authorization to proceed with any change is only given through the issue of an approved design note by Kasai UK.
-The shipment to Kasai UK of changed product is not acceptable until a Parts Submission Warrant has been submitted and approved.
Refer to the "Company Specific Requirements" section for details on lot control, product identification and traceability requirements for initial deliveries of any changed product.
-If any modifications to gauges are required as a result of a design change, they shall be detailed in the relevant "Gauge Specification and Approval Sheet".
The updated document shall be submitted to the relevant Kasai UK department.

-If requested, participate in Joint Design Review with Renault / Nissan.
